Lea G. Hardcastle Obituary Hardcastle, Lea G. (nee Griffin), Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Beloved wife of Richard H. Hardcastle III for 46 years; loving mother of Lauren (Justin) Trusty and Haley Hardcastle; cherished grandmother of Oliver and Lillian Trusty; dear daughter of Martha and the late Marcus Griffin; dear sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many. Marsha Lea Griffin was born on May 14, 1955, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Mark and Martha Griffin. She completed her primary education in Ada before attending William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri and later attaining a Masters in Education. It was during this time that she met Richard Hardcastle, a student at Westminster College. The two were married on August 4, 1979, and later welcomed their two daughters, Lauren and Haley. After graduating, Lea began her teaching career in New Haven, Missouri. She later taught at Nipher Middle School, but her greatest joy came from dedicating herself to raising her family. She was a passionate and involved mother, known for organizing everything from school events to holiday gatherings, and her love and energy shaped countless special memories. She built a wide circle of devoted friends, and her kindness and warmth brought joy to everyone she encountered. A devout Christian and animal lover, Lea found peace and inspiration in her faith and the companionship of pets. Her many hobbies included pottery, fishing, reading, music, and movies, pursuits that reflected her creative and adventurous spirit. Lea leaves behind her mother Martha, loving husband Richard, her daughters, Lauren and Haley, and her cherished grandchildren, Oliver and Lillian, as well as countless friends and extended family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She passed away after a decades long and brave battle with multiple sclerosis - she remained a fighter until the end. She will be greatly missed. Funeral Monday, September 8th, 10:30 am at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road, Kirkwood, with interment to follow.
