Don "Donnie" Caton

We are sad to announce the passing of Don “Donnie” Caton. Donnie passed away peacefully on September 27th with his family at his side. Don is survived by his loving children Taylor, Ryan, Daniel and Trenton Caton, and their mother Kelly (Byrne) Caton, as well as his siblings Linda (Rick) Roesch, Tim (Susan) Caton, Patrick (Angie) Caton and Susan Caton. He is predeceased by his parents, Rev. Deacon Gene and Joan Caton. Don was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and a dear brother-in-law and cousin. Don grew up in south Saint Louis County and graduated from Mehlville Senior High School (Class of 1985). He had a very successful career as an entrepreneur. Don learned the construction trade and started Caton Construction Company through which he built several custom homes and refurbished dozens of homes in the Florissant and Hazelwood communities. He also owned and operated Chrism’s Cleaners, a successful drycleaning business in Old Town Florissant. Don was an avid cook. He thoroughly enjoyed showing off his culinary skills, whether it was smoking the perfect brisket or in the kitchen baking one of his famous pies, he was a very talented chef. His good-natured personality and warmhearted demeanor gained Donnie many friends over the years. Many of his best friends have known him since high school, and he was very close to all of them. HIs passion in life, though, was his children. He beamed with pride whenever he talked about his kids and referred to them often as “his greatest accomplishment”. Donnie will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He died before his time, but we look forward to seeing him again someday. Services: Visitation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Rd., Ballwin, Thursday, October 9th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at Mary, Mother of the Church, 5901 Kerth Rd., St. Louis, Friday, October 10th, at 12:00 p.m. Interment immediately following the Mass at Bellerive Gardens, 740 North Mason Rd., St. Louis.
