David William Simorka

Simorka, David William passed away suddenly on Friday, October 11, 2024 while on a Hawaiian vacation with his wife, Rhonda. Born October 28, 1955 to the late William T. and Kathleen Mullen Simorka; he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Rhonda L. Simorka (nee Weable); dear father of Jared, Aaron, and Hannah Simorka and step-father to Miranda Miceli (Scott), Lauren Bode (Matt) and Micah Gierse (Hannah); dearest grandfather of Lydia, Madelyn, Charlotte, Rowan, Braden, Madison, Teagan and Ellis. Dear brother of Michael (Nancy), Daniel (Heather DuBois), and the late Susan Simorka; an uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend to many. Dave was born is St. Louis and is an alumnus of St. John Vianney High School in Kirkwood. Dave spent the majority of his career working for The Laclede Gas Company/Spire Energy. After retiring from Laclede/Spire, Dave turned to his motorcycle passion and worked for Big St. Charles Motorsports in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Dave was a former president and member of the Shadow Riders Motorcycle Club in St. Louis and frequently participated in club road trips riding through approximately 16 states visiting many of the country’s landmarks, motorcycle rallies and twisty backroads. Dave and Rhonda were also members of the St. Louis Corvette Club and the LookingGlass Corvette Club in Illinois expanding their love of the open road and meeting fellow enthusiasts. Dave’s love for his family, easy going nature, adventuresome spirit and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family that loved him dearly. Services: A private interment will be held at Bellerive Gardens Cemetery. A Celebration of Life of Dave’s will be on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Maryland Heights Community Center, 2300 McKelvey Road, St. Louis, MO 63043. In lieu of flowers, donations or memorials can be made in Dave’s memory to: Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Dinah Weable Breast Cancer Foundation (providing free mammograms to uninsured women) or to Qavah the Storehouse (supports children in foster care and their caregiving families).
