Denise S. Whalley
May 22, 1951 - February 2, 2022
Denise Whalley (nee Benack), passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Denise was born in St. Louis in 1951 to the late Arlan and Doris Benack. She joined John Whalley in marriage in 1970 and spent the next 51 years in joyous harmony with her loving husband. She is the loving mother of the late Christopher Scott Whalley. She is survived by her daughter, Carrie (Chris) Reed and son, Casey (Allison) Whalley. She is the proud grandma and Ney Ney of Sophia, Christopher, John and Chloe and is the dearest sister of Michele (Paul) Kohne and Scott (Diana) Benack. Denise spent most of her working years in the medical billing profession, including 15 years with St. Joseph's Hospital, where she built many lasting friendships. She always enjoyed vacationing with her dearest cousins from the East Coast and attending theater productions with her close friends. She loved her many pets (but especially her beloved feline Zoey) and in her retired life passed time watching Gunsmoke and playing slot machines. More than anything, Denise always cared for the well-being of those around her and never hesitated to help out those in need. She left an indelible impression on everyone she met and will be greatly missed by many.
