Richard (Rich) Harold Myers

Richard (Rich) Harold Myers passed away peacefully on the evening of March 13, 2026, at the age of eighty-one. He was born to Margaret Eileen and Harold David Myers on June 11, 1944. At the young age of eighteen, Rich’s life would forever be changed one fateful day in 1962 when a beautiful young girl walked into the small neighborhood grocery store where he worked. This would be the love of his life, Mary Margaret Hoenig. Both would often say, it was love at first sight. Soon they were inseparable. They were married in 1963, and their devotion to one another served as a shining example to their children and others on Christian marriage. They were married sixty years and had five children. Their home was filled with activity, laughter, family dance parties, large family gatherings and many holiday celebrations and birthdays. They enjoyed dancing and were quite good. They treasured dancing to their song "Only You" by the Platters. Rich had a diverse career over the years from working as a police officer, Baptist minister, and truck driver. His primary vocation was as a truck driver; however, in his heart being a pastor was his true calling. He was a life-long, enthusiastic student of the Bible and unashamedly lived out his Christian faith. If you had ever met him, you could be assured he was praying for you. He had a profound impact on his children’s lives, instilling faith, hard work, patriotism, and love of family. His influence on others was equally significant. He had the biggest heart and was an excellent listener, he truly was interested in everyone and what mattered to them. Rich will be remembered for his passion to win people to Christ, kind heart, legendary sense of humor, unwavering loyalty, and love of country. He will always be cherished and profoundly missed. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Myers; mother, Margaret Eileen Stacy; father, Harold David Myers; sister, Joan Estes; and son-in-law, Marcus Lipe. Richard is survived by five children, Mary Margaret [Kent] Weber; Kathleen Laura [Marcus] Lipe; Richard David [Elizabeth] Myers; Steven Robert [Natalie] Myers; and Leigh [James] Earley, twelve grandchildren, Brooke [Nikolas] Tannehill; Lyndsey [David] Politte; Samuel [Kristen Gramann] Myers; Amanda [Stephen] Harrell; Madison [Jacob] Tucker, Alexis Myers, Jacob [Kelsey] Myers, Liam [Taylor] Myers, Rosemary Myers, Ryleigh Myers, Holden Myers, Marnie Myers, four step-grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a sibling, William Stacy, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends who will sadly miss him. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center, 5987 Mid Rivers Mall drive, St. Charles. A funeral service will also be held at the Funeral home on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Richard will be laid to rest at Bellerive Garden Cemetery.
