Peggy Graves

Peggy Graves passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the age of 88. She was born in Hazel, Kentucky. Peggy was preceded in death by her dear husband, Ralph Graves; her parents, Herbert and Olalia (née Chrisman) Underwood; and her brother, Ronald Underwood. She is survived by her children, Shari (Tom) Rhodes and Greg Graves; grandchildren, Brad (Ashley) Rhodes and Amanda (Alex) Glenn; great-grandchildren, Theodore Ralph Rhodes, Griffin Thomas Rhodes, Mila Belle Rhodes, and Samuel Thomas Glenn; sister, Lanette (Eddie) Hunt; and extended family and friends. Peggy loved cooking, gardening, playing bridge, sewing, decorating, playing the piano, and participating in her church and community choirs. Her backyard was often compared to the St. Louis Botanical Gardens. Her love for cooking included trying new recipes and baking pies, cobblers, cakes, and cookies, as well as full course meals. At Christmas, she baked hundreds of cookies and made countless platters for Ralph to deliver. Peggy hosted many family gatherings over the years, including the annual Christmas dinners, and she looked forward to her family reunion every Fourth of July. Peggy loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and was their biggest fan. She and Ralph had Cardinal season tickets. They also loved to travel. Their favorite destination was Indian Shores, Florida, where they made countless family memories for more than 40 years-a tradition the family will continue. Peggy cherished her many friendships, including those with her neighbors, church community, bridge groups, her “Fabulous Friends” group, and at Friendship Village. Peggy was a true Christian with a strong faith, and she displayed it in every action. She always put others first and supported many charities throughout the years, including sponsoring two children through African Vision of Hope. She loved her friends and family deeply, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her immense joy. She often said she had a happy and wonderful life. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
