Mary Jane Kuhlmann

Mary Jane Kuhlmann (nee Vohsen) of St. Louis, Missouri, born on Wednesday, August 10, 1938 was called to her heavenly home on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the age of 81. Dearly beloved wife of the late Roger Carl Kuhlmann of 54 years. Loving and caring mother and mother-in-law of Kathy Diane (Jeff) Branneky of Bridgeton, MO and Steven Dale (Carrie) Kuhlmann of St. Charles, MO. Devoted and proud grandmother of Jeffrey Scott (Brindy) Branneky of Clermont, FL, Cheryl Lynn (Ryan) Marsala of St. Charles, MO, Brandon Carl, Kyle Steven and Connor Dale Kuhlmann. Sweet great-grandmother of Leo Paul Marsala. Dearest aunt, great-aunt, godmother, cousin, neighbor and friend. Dear sister of the late Joan Jacobson. Dear sister-in-law of Ronald Jacobson, Harold (late Edna), late Ralph (late Ann), and Gene (Norma) Kuhlmann. Dear daughter of late Joseph and Theodoshia (Kohenskey) Vohsen and dear daughter-in-law of late Joseph and Philippine (Boenker) Kuhlmann. Mary Jane was baptized on August 21, 1938 and confirmed on May 25, 1952 at Zion Lutheran Church in Maryland Heights, MO. Mary Jane faithfully served as the organist at Zion Lutheran Church for many years, starting at the age of 16. Mary Jane and Roger were married at Zion Lutheran Church on November 8, 1957. She was also employed by Community Federal Savings and Loan as the secretary to the bank’s president until her retirement in 1963 to become a homemaker. Mary Jane continued her service of faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church Olivette through playing the piano for Monday night worship services. She also was active at Immanuel Olivette as a member of the Altar Guild, Women’s Guild and Quilting group. Mary Jane took joy and pride in cooking for her family at every opportunity. Many family recipes have been passed on through her legacy. She always took special interest in her grandchildren’s activities of sports, dance and academics. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church Olivette, 9733 Olive Blvd., Olivette, MO 63132 or to Good Shepherd School for Children, 1170 Timber Run Drive, St. Louis, MO 63146. Visitation Tuesday, February 18, 4:00-8:00 PM at Collier's Funeral Home, 3400 N. Lindbergh Blvd (St Ann) and Wednesday 9:30 AM until service time 10:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 9733 Olive Blvd. Interment at Bellerive Heritage Gardens Cemetery.
