Christine M. Lineback

Christine Lineback December 17, 2022 76 years old, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Christine was born on July 11, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri to Edward and Angela (McFadden) Sanders. After graduating from Villa Duchesne, she earned her Bachelor's Degree from Maryville University with an English and History double major, and completed her formal education with a Master's Degree in History from St. Louis University. Christine enjoyed a fulfilling career in Education. She taught early childhood education, grammar school and high school, but especially treasured her time as the Eighth Grade teacher at Little Flower School in Richmond Heights, where she was beloved by students, parents, faculty and the clergy until she retired. As a life-long member of the Junior League of St. Louis, Christine served the community in a myriad of positions. The project closest to her heart was the Glass Slipper Project serving Nottingham Community Access and Job Training High School. Christine was honored with the Drue Lane Webster Volunteer Service Award in 2018. The award recognizes members who exemplify the spirit and purpose of JLSL through a commitment to voluntarism through combined "hands-on" service and leadership roles. Christine was an avid reader and longtime participant and leader of book clubs in St. Louis and in Naples, Florida. She enjoyed playing and teaching Mahjong and Bridge. She spent many hours needlepointing, creating beautiful belts, ornaments and Christmas Stockings that will be forever treasured. An enthusiastic supporter of Billiken Basketball and Cardinal Baseball, Christine was most devoted to cheering for her husband, Harmony's, slow-pitch softball teams and encouraging her daughters, Elizabeth "Lisa" and Melody, in all of their athletic pursuits. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Angela Sanders, her sister, Mary Beth Sanders, and her brother, David Sanders. She is survived by her brother, Mark (Sheila) Sanders, her sisters, Judy Bauer and Marianne Sanders, her husband of 53 years, Harmony Lineback, her daughters, Elizabeth "Lisa" (Rich Grote) Lineback and Melody (Robert "Brad") Drake, her grandchildren, Diane (Joshua) Bryson, Mackenzie Lineback, Hudson Grote, Robert "Peter" Drake, Harmony Drake, Juliet Drake, Angela Drake and Wilhelmina "CeCe" Drake, and her great-grandchildren, Adelaide Bryson, Isabella Bryson, Eloise Bryson, and Matilda Bryson. Services: Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Lupton Chapel, 7233 Delmar Blvd, University City, 63130, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Words of remembrance will be at the visitation at 5 p.m. Private burial at Bellerive Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Junior League of St. Louis for benefit of the Glass Slipper Project.
