Arch Anthony “Tony” Catlett II, baptized into the hope of Christ’s resurrection on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 Beloved husband of Maureen Catlett (nee Stretch). Loving father of Brian (Laura) Catlett, Danny Catlett and Tim (Kristin) Catlett. Proud grandfather of Megan, Grace, Ella and Josie. Dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. Tony was born on July 7, 1942 to his parents Arch and Marie who raised him in north St. Louis City. He married his beautiful bride Maureen in November 1966 as they loved each other for 57 plus years. The family moved from south St. Louis City to Ballwin in 1971. He had a zest for life and often greeted you with “It’s a great day to be alive!!!” Tony was passionate about sales and the insurance industry, retiring as a partner with the Crane Agency - he never referred to his job as work. He and Maureen were very proud of celebrating their Irish heritage together and remained close with Maureen’s relatives in Dublin. Tony was a renaissance man, spending his time soaking up history, traveling and watching old movies. He was an avid fan of the arts including music and theater. He was a sports fan, especially baseball, and had a special place for the St. Louis Cardinals - working as an usher in his early years and later enjoyed being a season ticket holder. He was a fan of John Wayne and Frank Sinatra and lived his life “My Way”. He loved to play host, his biggest passion was being surrounded by friends and family usually around a late night BBQ affair that included a few of his favorite adult beverages. In between weekend BBQs, Tony could be found digging, planting and tending to his rose bushes. There was never enough time to spend when it came his granddaughters, he was always busy planning their next big adventure. Services: Funeral Mass at Holy Infant Catholic Church, Ballwin, MO on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Private interment in Bellerive Gardens. If desired, contributions may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
